  • Drs. Alex and Julia Keen

We joined Davidson Family Dental in June 2015!

    A little bit about us…

    Dr. Julia Keen

    Where are you from?

My family was in the military when I was a child, so the question of where I am from always gets a little complicated! I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and spent time in Germany and Maryland before settling with my family in Southern Pines, North Carolina. I’ve spent most of my life in North Carolina, so I do consider myself a North Carolinian. I’m now a proud resident of Thomasville and very excited to serve this fantastic community.

I attended Pinecrest High School in Moore County, NC and then went off to the University of Chicago for my undergraduate education where I majored in Comparative Human Development. I attended UNC Chapel Hill School of Dentistry and received my Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love running, hiking, reading and traveling. Alex and I also enjoy taking road trips together – we went on an amazing trip across country in May for our honeymoon. My favorite stops were exploring the slot canyons in Utah’s Grand Staircase Escalante National Park and visiting the Monterrey Bay Aquarium in California.

    Dr. Alex Keen

    Where are you from?

I am a North Carolina native and was raised in Greensboro, so I am not too far from home. Julia and I are happy to call Davidson County our new home. We love living in a smaller quiet town while still being a short drive away from High Point and Greensboro.

I graduated from Walter Hines Page High School. From there I went to the University of North Carolina At Chapel Hill to receive a bachelor degree in Biology. After receiving my bachelor’s degree, I started dental school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I met my other passion, Julia.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I really enjoy spending time outdoors. Julia and I love to hike and explore the great outdoors. We spent most of our honeymoon doing that exact thing. I also enjoy fossil collecting as well as preparing the fossils I find.
